Course Description

This course is open to all members in the community.
It’s designed to prepare an individual with the knowledge, tools, and resources to better service people within our communities. Throughout this course, we will understand the impact that Tourism has on our region. This course will emphasize the skills and behaviors associated with customer service and develop an ambassador mindset. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will earn a specified Certified Ambassador certification.

Course Objectives

The outcome for this course is to increase regional tourism by inspiring front-line hospitality volunteers to make every visitor encounter a positive experience. This curriculum is designed around different opportunities to experience local attractions throughout Monroe Community. This program will give you continuous updates to keep you informed about attractions and other exciting developments within Monroe County. Upon completion of this course, participants will have volunteer opportunities (6 Hours) to help support our community as a Tourism Ambassador.

Timing Of This Program

This course is held over a period of 8 months. We will review the outline of the attraction visits, how we work with the Tourism Bureau to support the different events, our community and how to deal with the unknown and difficult people. This program will equip you with tools that support the Tourism vision and mission. Location and start date to follow.

The attractional visits will lead to greater knowledge about Monroe County’s area attractions. This program resources our associates in the hospitality industry as well as our local community ambassadors to learn and experience our attractions firsthand. Together we will explore our attractions; you can learn and collaborate with others who share your passion for our county.

Get connected through Activity and Attraction Tours. We will be meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at the various locations shared below. We meet 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Reminders will be sent prior to each session.

  • Gold Certified Ambassador – Complete nine attraction experiences
  • Silver Certified Ambassador – Complete six attraction experiences
  • Bronze Certified Ambassador – Complete three attraction experiences
